In January 2008, Cencosud’s marketing department started operating in Shanghai with the purpose of improving logistics efficiency in purchases made in the East, and guaranteeing more control on the quality and delivery deadlines of the products purchased in the area.

This new operations center allows the permanent search for new business deals for the company and all of its business units.

The main areas developed in the East are textile, home décor, electronics and the development of store brands.

Six months after it started operating, the department already had 12 people as part of its team, which consists of a Chilean manager and local professionals.
