Five years ago, Disco joined Prof. Dr. José P. Garrahan Pediatric Hospital's Paper Recycling Program. It included cardboard recycling containers in every branch, so paper can be collected and recycled.
In the same way, Jumbo is part of the initiative called "Recycling, our way of helping", which is a self-sustainable campaign that promotes the protection of the environment for solidary purposes. The initiative, organized by Tetra Pak along with Jumbo and Deltacom hypermarkets, intends to create social awareness about the importance of recycling for the environment and also about helping those in need. The proposal includes receiving Tetra Brik containers which will be then recycled. When 4 kilograms of containers are collected, 1 liter of milk is donated to Cáritas Argentina.
