Cencosud develops its department store business in Chile through the Paris department store chain, which mainly sells clothing, home products, and electronics, among others, and offers clients convenient payment methods and strategies.
The division is also in charge of an exclusive line of products called Eurofashion, which sells the brands Umbrale, Foster, JJO, and Cheeky, both inside and outside of the stores. Additionally, the unit has signed agreements with at least a dozen other brands, such as Opaline for children's clothes, Lounge for women's accessories, Brooks Brothers for men's casual clothing, and the representatives in Chile of Paruolo shoe stores (Argentina), Steve Madden (USA) and TopShop, the main junior clothing retailer in England.
In the department store business, Paris is divided into six major segments: Clothing, Home, HomeDecor, Technology, Sports, and Footwear. The most important of these departments is Clothing, a unit which develops its own brands, such as Tribu (children) Opposite (junior/urban), Aussy (surf/men), Greenfield (casual clothing for men/women), and Alaniz.
It has also developed a range of store brands for the Electronics (Nex) and Home (Attimo) departments. These lines have reached a high level of market penetration and have given the department store a completely different personality.
In addition to the stores, Paris has developed two different sales channels that are increasingly being used, that is, telephone sales and online sales from the store's website www.paris.cl
